Good Afternoon everyone!
I hope you're happy a lovely weekend.
After saving up I treated myself to a camera instead of buying anything in the January sales.
It's a Canon EOS 1000D SLR. I must admit, I'm not really sure what I'm doing yet but on first impression the quality is fantastic and I like the fact that it's light to carry.
Here's some practice shots taken before the Christmas decorations came down, always a sad moment!
And a couple of other textures and items around the house:
I'm particulalry pleased with the close ups our bedroom's beaded lampshade. I really like interpreting patterns and textures in close up.
I decided to use of of the images for my new blog banner using the free editing software that came with the camera. I hope you like it!
Hope everyone is having a good 2011 so far.
Love Lottie x
Are you taking up any new hobbies or restarting old ones in 2011?
Any suggestions for beginner photography blogs?

I just thought I'd post a couple of pictures of our recent adventures here since the weather has been so lovely! I'm a bit of a photograpy addict, I want to be better at it though! What do you think of these pics? These are for my friends and family to see too because Facebook is just sooo slow :)
What have you been doing at the weekends recently?

Photography contest

Good evening guys,
Hope you've had a productive and fulfilling day!
My fiance's company is running a competition for staff and partners to take pictures of the Isle of Man, maybe to be used in their next brochure. It has been really fun to collate all my favourite photographs I've taken of the lovely and beautiful place where I live.
What do you guys think?
Take care,
LottieB xxx
